Nike Mia Hamm

The Mia Hamm building at Nike’s Beaverton campus is a thoughtful architectural refresh that honors the original high‑quality build while adapting the space to how Nike’s people work today. O+A’s intervention modernizes circulation, collaboration zones, and amenity spaces with performance‑driven materials, flexible layouts, and clear sightlines that support active, cross‑disciplinary work. The design is organized around “Three Ways to Run” — trail, street, and track — used as metaphors for distinct spatial types: the trail as studio space for exploration and improvisation, the street as a central concourse with landmark rig rooms and public meeting areas, and the track as refined, single‑purpose spaces. This approach reinforces Nike’s athlete‑focused design ethos, keeping the brand’s legacy intact while readying the building for contemporary creative practice.
