Challenge

In this project, professor Stan Zienka asked students to use experimental typography to tell a personal story in an unorthodox and compelling manner.

Strategy

While designing this project, I was entering my fourth year as a junior architect, and feeling overwhelmed with client deadlines, code regulations, and the everyday minutia involved with paying ones dues in the design industry. I used this assignment as an opportunity to vent my frustrations, illustrating the day to day musings of a junior designer.

Results

Revise & Resubmit is a candid portrayal of my daily to-do lists, daydreams, achievements, and frustrations. It is a visual representation of my own internal struggle in making the job I held align with job I dreamed of. By using office products, job-site photos, and construction documents juxtaposed with illustrative type, I produced an accurate archive of the life of a young designer.
